When I got hold of this piece of timber the unusual pattern in the wood reminded me of the Hand of God in Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting which forms part of his Sistine Chapel ceiling frieze. My paddle may be a mere speck of dust on the floor in comparison to this most renowned of artworks but I (and nature herself) can still draw inspiration from the greats of history.

The cleaver shaped paddle is made from blackheart sassafras with a brass handle hole and details. It has a smooth Danish oil finish. The pointy underside of the handle makes for a fine poking point for those who indulge in a little sensation play.

This handcrafted paddle was created in Miss Emm's workshop in Sydney's inner west, where beautiful impact toys come to life.
