One pane - two personalities! This short wide pane is a light and slappy implement which gives a great sting without the added bite of a thin cane. The handle is spottex gum with brass handle holes and details.

Panes are made from a single large piece of rattan which is then shaved down to create a flat blade surface. The impact sensation they produce is somewhere between a paddle and a cane, hence the name. They don't have quite the intensity of a traditional cane, nor the thud of a wooden paddle. Panes have some flex in the blade shaft which varies with blade thickness. This flex helps convey the feeling of a cane to both the caner and canee.

Miss Emm came up with the flat cane concept way back in 2011 after being asked whether it was possible to create a cane that didn't feel as intense as a cane!

This handcrafted pane was created by Miss Emm in her workshop in Sydney's inner west, where the finest wooden kink toys come to life.
