Product Description

A classic mid-length pane (flat cane) with a wide blade which is heavily tapered to provide a light bouncing tap or a big sting. You can even use the thin side of the blade for a duller thuddier impact if you desire. Using the 'normal' wide face will impart a firm sting without the very sharp sensation of a traditional round cane.

The handle is made from jarrah from Western Australia, and has brass handle holes. The pane is finished in gloss polyurethane varnish for a shiny and attractive finish.

Panes are made from a large round piece of rattan shaped into a flat blade. The darkness at the tip end of the blade is due to the original rattan pole having become stained at some point during it's journey from an Indonesian forest to my workshop. It is not natural in the sense that it didn't grow like that, but it is a normal part of the rattan production process which affected some pieces. The discolouration has no effect on the rattan and I decided that rather than trim the shaft I would leave it intact as a talking point for its new owner :)    

This pane was made in Miss Emm's workshop in Sydney's inner west, where the finest wooden kink toys come to life.
