This piece of blackheart sassafras was born to be a cane handle.

The cane is a mid-length medium diameter cane - the perfect Goldilocks cane - not to stingy, not to heavy, it's just right.

The cane shaft is rattan and the handle has been handcrafted from blackheart sassafras with a brass handle hole and details. The cane is finished in gloss polyurethane varnish for an attractive and smooth surface and ease of cleaning.

Blackheart sassafras grows predominantly in Tasmania and is one of Australia's highly regarded fine timbers. The black streaks are not grain lines but rather they are the result of a fungal infection in the tree which stains the timber and creates all manner of interesting patterns. 

This cane was created by Miss Emm in her workshop in Sydney's inner west, where the finest wooden kink toys are brought to life.
