Japanese cedar, or sugi in Japanese, sometimes produces the most extraordinary complex grain patterns like the ones visible in this paddle.

This paddle has one flat face and one rippled face to provide contrasting textures. Sugi is inscribed in Japanese with brass dots on the smooth face. It feels light in the hand and easy to swing.
